Eastern Propane & Oil Partners with Hockey East to Spotlight Youth Hockey

AMESBURY, Mass. – The Hockey East Association and Eastern Propane & Oil announced today a new partnership that will spotlight youth hockey players in New England throughout regular season play.

“Hockey East is excited to team up with Eastern Propane & Oil for this season,” Hockey East Commissioner Steve Metcalf. “Adding another great partner to help support youth hockey throughout New England is a key step as we aim to elevate the next generation of future Hockey East stars.”

As part of the partnership, New England youth hockey teams are invited to make video submissions on why they play hockey and what the sport has taught them. Each video submission will be highlighted throughout Hockey East social and digital media platforms. At the end of the regular season, one lucky youth team will be invited to attend the Hockey East Men’s Championship game at TD Garden.

“We are passionate about partnerships that allow us to support so many of the communities we serve,” said Whitney Cloutier, Brand and Marketing Manager at Eastern Propane & Oil. “We know the time commitment families and athletes make for any sport, and we are proud to partner with Hockey East in recognizing and rewarding these athlete’s passion and dedication for hockey. At Eastern, we have always focused on embracing local organizations at all levels and by supporting these young student athletes and their passion for hockey, our hope is they will someday inspire other young athletes to do the same.”

If your team is interested in being highlighted by Hockey East, please send your submission to info@hockeyeastonline.com with the subject line “Hockey East Rising, Presented by Eastern Propane & Oil”. Videos should be roughly thirty seconds to one minute in length and filmed in landscape format.

Shooter Tutors

Dear Member Associations,

Rhode Island Hockey is pleased to subsidize local youth hockey programs up to $600.00 towards the purchase of shooter tutors. Shooter tutors are a great way to keep a scrimmage or drill alive if goalies are scarce and also good for encouraging shooters to pick corners and look for hard-to-defend scoring opportunities.

To qualify for the subsidy, programs must order the accessories from a commercial hockey supplier and submit the receipt to aubiegman@gmail.com no later than 12/31/25. We can not reimburse programs for home made or locally sourced items. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

On another note, this request came from a local program that attended our August meeting and asked if the state affiliate could reimburse programs for shooter tutors. Rhode Island Hockey meets on the third Monday of every month to discuss how to grow, promote, publicize and celebrate the sport of hockey in the state of Rhode Island. Without input from the member associations, we are just guessing at what you need. Please try to send a representative from your program to attend our monthly meetings. We are here to help.
