RI Hockey Member programs may commit teams wishing to represent Rhode Island at a Regional, Sectional or National tournament for Tier I, Tier II or Tier III to participate in a state play down tournament.  Please review the Eligibility Requirements Policy below before submitting a commitment form and deposit.  Ineligible teams submitting a commitment form and deposit will not receive deposit refunds.

Midget and Bantam teams must commit and submit a $250 deposit by September 15th, Squirt and Pee Wee teams must commit and submit a $250 deposit by November 1st.

Teams committing to National bound play downs are not eligible for non-National bound tournaments.

For non-National Regional/Sectionals, tournament spots will be filled from highest level to lowest (TII Regional, TII Sectional, TIII Sectional) based on play down finish, third place games will be played between semi-final losers for levels with three tournaments

Teams must attend the tournament they qualify for. Teams that do not attend their tournament will be responsible for any penalties imposed on RI Hockey by the New England District and additional penalties and/or suspensions per RI Hockey policies.

RI Hockey Play Down Coordinators will determine the play down tournament format based on the number of teams committing. Initial pairings will be determined by a blind draw.
